Arch Pain

Pain experienced anywhere along the underside of the foot, from the heel to the ball, is commonly referred to as arch pain. While this term is somewhat broad, the majority of arch pain cases are attributed to strain or inflammation of the plantar fascia—a lengthy ligament on the underside of the foot. This condition is known as plantar fasciitis and can sometimes be associated with the presence of a heel spur.

Arch pain typically develops due to factors such as overuse, wearing unsupportive footwear, weight gain, or acute injury. If you find that arch pain persists for more than a few days, it’s advisable to seek the expertise of a foot and ankle surgeon for proper treatment to prevent the condition from worsening.
